Lara
graduated from Adelphi University with a BFA in
Dance. She began her teaching career by age 15 in
Tap, Jazz, break dancing and Ballet. At age 16
she performed with an adult dance troupe at clubs,
parties and charity events and traveled the US
and Canada to judge youth dance competitions.
Lara has also taught Modern and Ballet for many
years before stumbling upon Ballroom Dancing.
She went through extensive studying in Ballroom
and Latin styles, and in 1996 she began teaching
and professionally competing in both American and
International Ballroom and Latin Styles placing
in the top five nationally with her partner. In
2002, Lara began competing in both Swing and
Salsa and placed in the top three in nationally
and opened her own dance studio a year later.
Currently, Lara and her
partner Keith Stremmel have been traveling across
the US competing in West Coast Swing. They
have won a numerous National Titles in the
Classic Rising Star division and came in the top
15 in the US Open Swing Dance Championships.
January of 2009, Lara and Keith moved up to the
Open Classic division and are continuing their
journey of competing all over the United States
making a name for themselves.
Lara teaches Salsa,
Swing, Ballroom, Latin and Country. She works
with many couples not only learning for fun but also
those getting ready for their Wedding, Special Event,
Ball, or Company Party. Lara also performs demos
and gives lessons at special events, clubs and parties.

held the second Saturday of every month in conjunction
with the Colvin Run Citizens’ Association of Great
Falls. There's a variety of DJ’d contemporary and
classic dance music including wcs/ecs/hustle/shag/latin/two-step/waltz
and requests! Colvin Run Schoolhouse features a very
large air-conditioned dance hall with a delightful
floating wood dance floor. No partner or prior dance
experience needed. Dress varies from casual to party.
Intro west coast swing lesson from 7 to 8 PM, and dancing
from 8 to midnight.$12 cover charge includes lessons,
